You can ski until the end of April and even in May in the Sälen area but there are other things to do in spring. At the breaking the ice the beautiful and tasty arctic char is biting like crazy!

WAFFLES

Enjoy the warm rays of the springtime sun with coffee and waffles at Joängets våffelstuga, Gammelgården or Ylvas våffelstuga.


HIKING

Totally 200 kilometers of marked hiking trails is to be found in Sälen. Why not do the Vasaloppet on foot, Vasaloppsleden?

FISHING

The Transtrand fishery conservation area offer good possibilities for fishing for trout, arctic char, rainbow trout, grayling, perch and, monstrous pike!

Note that some waters is on the Lima area.

Don't be surprised if you get company from curious mountain cows on your fishing trip.

Fishing license can be bought at several shops and gas stations or from Ifiske page or app.


CYCLING

The Sälen area offers both cycling downhill and trail of various degree of difficulty. Rental and service are to found at several places.
In Rörbäcksnäs, 35 minutes from Sälengården, there are fantastic single-trails.
The Vasaloppetis also a nice challenge for cross country cycling and there are trails at Kläppen.

GOLF

Sälenfjällens Golf Club’s 18-hole course at 500 metres altitude offers scenic views. It is complete for golfing with driving range, golf shop, training green, dressing rooms, golf pro, café, office and possibility to rent golf cars and golf carts.
