Sälengården was built in 1919 as a church for the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden.
Back in those days, services were held three times a day.

In the 1940’s and 50’s the church also became a campground for the youth of the church, SMU-gården.

In June 2019 we took over the B&B and had quite a big renovation made. The second floor still reminds us that it once was a church.
Today Sälengården is a guesthouse open all year round with a homely and cosy touch.
One guest said: “ It’s like living at Grandmother’s and Grandfather’s!”

We have license to serve alcohol and in summer you can enjoy a glass of wine, a soft drink or the local produced beer “Transtrands Pils” in the timber shed and watch the breathtaking sunset over the mountains.

The guesthouse is beautifully situated at the foot of the mountains in Transtrand in walking distance of the Vasaloppet start area.
In all there are eleven rooms, from one to four beds. There are clean and fresh looking showers and toilets on both floors. As a guest you have access to ski waxing-room, ski- and bicycle storage and drying cabinet.
Bed linen and towel are always included in the price as well as a proper breakfast buffet.
If you want supper we prefer that you order that when booking the room.

Four legged family members are very welcome to join you and perhaps there will be some zoomies with our little girl Nisse
